Moving On

Ok so today is my last day here in ole Texas. I shall be on a greyhound tomorrow moving on to Virginia. Kind of a sad day for me had to say goodbye to my dog Sadie. It was quite heartbreaking! Cant say im going to really miss this part of Texas. I will miss my friends and my dog though. Found a good home for her and im hoping and praying shell be allright. I have to leave my bike for now. The owner of the property i was staying on has promised to have it shipped to me. Ive left him the forwarding address so hopefully in a week or two it will show up. Have also prayed about that too.
Ive been praying about so much. I hope that this will be my last move for a while and that things work up in Richmond. I dont know what Gods direction is for me or his purpose but i hope its to find me a place i can settle down again.

I will be uploading some more pictures in a day or two. Til then take care to all who follow this.

Same Ole Same Ole

I wake every morning knowing im not going anywhere and i long for the days o9n the trail when i was traveling. I still go out riding my bike around town but its just not the same. I look around me at my tent and realize this is my life now. Sometimes is depressing and i have to remind myself that i never know what might happen tomorrow and i could just as easily be back on the road traveling once again. Ive met a lot of people in this new life im living and some of them have been a god send. Ive even managed to aquire a little puppy. She was abandoned and found in a pen by herself. Ive named her sadie and am having to get used to having a puppy around. Who would think such a little dog would be so much trouble! LOL She gets into everything and tries to chew on anything she can reach. Sometimes its exasperating. She is so cute though its hard to get mad at her. The lady who foubnd her writes a column in the local paper and the pup was mentioned in said column. So now Sadie is kinda famous. Everyone who sees her says so is this that little dog. LOL

I miss the comoradie of other bikers. There arent a lot in this area. Heck there isnt even a bike shop here. Ive had to figure out how to do a lot of the work on my bike myself. I met one guy who lives around here and rides but he isnt to open to talking or riding with others. Once in a while i see 1 or 2 riding thru town but usually i dont have a chance to talk to them or their go by so fast i cant wave them down and see where they came from. I look around and i notice bikes but it seems they mostly belong to kids.

Ive started attending a church on a regular basis. This church and the store down the street are pretty much my whole social network. Sometimes i just long for the days on the trail where i knew tomorrow would be another town and thered be new interesting people to meet. I dont think my journey has ended yet. I think this is just a temporary thing and any day ill be moving on again.

Texas

Ok so heres how it went i got a ride from Sedalia Missouri to Texarkana Texas. Then i got a ride from Texarkana To Livingston and i am now at my destination. Going to stay here for a while and see how it works out if i dont like it ill be moving on. I sorely miss the Katy Trail. I just loved my time alone with nature and god. And meeting nice people and seeing new places everyday. Im almost depressed thinking of waking up to the same place every single day. There are new people for me to meet though. And a who9le lot of churches i can go to. So thats the plus side. The down side is no internet access unless i get on bike and ride to store. (Which is where im at now, doing laundry) Hopefully in the future though i will get a internet card so i can be online more. So this is my short yet sweet update.

End of Katy Trail

I ended the katy trail yesterday in Clinton, Missouri. Had kind of a long night. My brother decided he wanted to pick me up there and take me to Joplin. Had no sleep and the campgropund was closed so now im sitting at a motel using their wi-fi while i figure out what to do. The guy here is super nice and is even charging up my phone. May end up spending a night here and then trying to find some where to camp. I am just so darn tired. Coffee isnt helping any today. LOL Hopefully when i get a little sleep i will be able to think more clearer.

So sad to have seen the end of the katy trail. I prolonged it as long as i could. (And you'll all be glad to know i ended it the same way i started it) Actually rode the last five miles. I probably took more pictures yesterday then i did the whole trip. Problem is i messed up computer (got to call comp people) and i cant figure out now how to upload pictures to blog. Once i call them i should have that straightened up and i can post whats left of the photos.

So looks like this may just be the end of my journey. Ill never regret doing it. The people ive met and the places ive seen have all been worth the effort.

Sedalia Missouri and Bad Weather

I am now at Sedalia Missouri. The weather the last 2 nights has been terrible so tonight ive rented a motel room. Ive been doing 15 or more miles a day. Last night i spent in a garage in Pilot Grove Missouri. This nice older couple put me up , fed me and even let me take a shower. God bless all the good people ive met on this journey. I feel ive really been blessed.

Looks like my journey may be ending at Joplin Missouri. I have a friend who is going to pick med up there and take me the rest of the way to Texas. So looks like the worst will be going from Clinton to Joplin. I will be praying a lot and i hope you all pray for me too. I will have to take side streets and hope to find camping spots for the night. With gods help i should be fine.

I have til 11 a.m. Tomorrow here. So im going to rest and take a shower. To all my friends out there thank you for kind wishes. Take care all and when i get to Texas i will add more to blog. And of course label pictures. The pictures that say 2005 are from this journey. I had camera problems and then forgot to reset date. That whole group of pictures is from Coopers landing.
